Troop 5 Scoutmaster Announcements – Oct 8, 2024

We have an open show & sale shift for 1 scout this Saturday from 1-3pm at Food Lion that we need filled. Please let us know as soon as possible if you can cover that shift. All popcorn orders must be submitted no later than Tuesday, October 29th; stock is not guaranteed after that date. We will be adding one last show & sale date on November 2nd in conjunction with the church yard sale; look for those signups in the next week or two.

We are being asked to possibly be filmed in some Scouting America training footage, and we need a solid headcount to confirm with the videographer. We are also planning to host an activity for a nearby pack at this campout.

Everyone should also have received an email about the 2026 National Jamboree information session being hosted by the council over Zoom tomorrow night. If you did not receive that information, please let me know.

A reminder for scouts who are First Class and above and have completed ILST, the council is offering National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) over two consecutive weekends in November. This is a fairly significant time commitment because it is a significant training course and achievement. The troop will cover the registration cost for any eligible scout who attends. The only other registration requirement is a current medical form, parts A, B, and C. Full registration information is available at https://scoutingevent.com/596-24NYLT.
