Troop 5 Scoutmaster Announcements – Jan 7, 2025

Happy new year everyone!

We will celebrate Jeremy Morris achieving his Eagle Rank this Saturday at noon at the church. The formal ceremony will be in the sanctuary followed by a reception lunch in the social hall. I hope all of you can attend. Please share this event with any Troop 5 alumni as well.

Winter camp is just 10 days away. Now is the time to double check your cold weather clothing and gear and make sure it’s ready to go and do its job of keeping you warm. Most meals are provided as part of this council event; scouts should plan to eat before arriving at the church on Friday (Jan 17) and bring money for lunch on the way home on Monday (Jan 20).

Scouts looking to earn a rank advancement at our Scout Sunday court of honor on February 9th should have their requirements and scoutmaster conferences completed no later than winter camp so that boards of review can be scheduled alongside the January committee meeting on the 21st.

We’ve got lots of fun events and outings planned for this year. Keep an eye out for more information and for RSVP forms. There are some things that we need to plan well in advance, particularly in the summertime. If you have not yet RSVP’d for our ski trip or for summer camp, please do that here now.
