Troop 5 Scoutmaster Announcements – Sep 17, 2024

This weekend we go camping at the Leigh family cottage in Jamaica, VA. We will meet at the church at 5:00pm and depart shortly thereafter. Scouts should pack the usual campout necessities plus a swimsuit and towel just in case we are able to do water activities (no promises).

Please RSVP for our October camping trip as soon as possible at https://forms.gle/QyE3CsUaj3jBX2wL7. We need to ensure we have sufficient scouts to coordinate activities with the visiting pack(s).

RSVP’s are due for Pipsico Winter Camp no later than this Friday: https://forms.gle/QXRW3f9wU5kiga277. This event typically sells out quickly; if you are not signed up to go with our troop by Friday, it is unlikely that you will be able to go. Please review the merit badge guidebook from this past January to gain a general understanding of what merit badges they will offer (2025 will certainly be different than 2024 but likely similar in its offering): https://pipsicobsa.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/WinterCampMBG-24.pdf. Refunds are not possible so please ensure you want to go and are able to go before committing.

Popcorn fundraising sales continue! Please let Shayna know what orders you have made outside of show & sales that you need filled. She goes most Wednesdays to the scout shop to reload our troop supply. Thank you all for your support of our troop and helping to keep it running financially.

Finally, please note that next Tuesday, September 24th we will meet at 6:30pm at the Starving Artist Cafe (4408 Colley Ave) for a observation and basic training on how to operate a commercial kitchen. We will not be meeting at the church that evening.
